Mendenhall Glacier 7/29/22

We did see a few orcas on our way into Juneau, just past the lighthouse. This was the best shot I could get going 25mph.
Boating into Juneau Harbor after a three hour, 90mi ride in a 24' catamaran. These yachts would have been preferable.
Amphibious boat? Awesome!
Steep creek sockeye started running a few days before we arrived!

Great glacial polish under the visitor center.
Lots of variety in the creek at different times of the year.
Mendenhall Glacier... a shadow of itself even 10 years prior.
I've got the glacial blues.
Mendenhall & Nugget Falls.
People pay to paddle across the lake when you can just walk 20 minutes and be in the same place with much less effort.
The recent rains cut-off the trail to the sandbar, so it was a cluster trying to get to Nugget Falls. Not a lot of great hiking knowledge amongst the cruise…
A pond on the walk home.
I really wish I didn't have to see these rocks.
Super fun...
Barely any of the glacier was visible from Nugget Falls. My first trip here in 2014 let me see massive walls of ice.
The blues are something else.
Seen next to our hotel, LOL.
