After spending the night at Moraine Camp in Lee Vining Canyon, Laura and I slept-in and wanted to find an easy hike on the east side of the Sierra to get us acclimated to the elevation. We saw Parker Lake on the map and figured the hike of just over a mile and a half with a mild climb would be a good start. By the time we got to the trailhead at 11:30am the parking lot was packed. We started up the terminus of the moraine as some twenty people came streaming past us over a ten minute period. When we arrived at the lake there were still ten to fifteen folks on the opposite shore that were “loud talkers” and kind of ruined the experience for me. Although the hike was pleasant and the lake very nice, the totality of the experience just lacked something that I can’t identify at the moment.
