Here are some of my favorite shots that I've ever taken of Half Dome. This wierd lighting is called Alpenglow. It occurs after the sun has set which causes the remaing light to refract and bend around the lower atmosphere. The light that makes it through has scattered quite a bit of red light, thusly creating the eerie pinkish glow on the mountians. |
