Close-up of the frost. It had rained the previous night in the valley making for high relative humidity in the air near the trees. At night, with the dewpoint below freezing, the frost crystals formed through depostion, where water vapor goes straight from a gas to a solid without ever hitting the liquid stage. Pretty cool results, aren't they! |
