_2170735.JPG - Here are the stars of the Kingston Peak fmt: diamictites! What's a diamictite you ask? Well, it's a poorly sorted conglomorate. These particular diamictiites perplexed geologists for years. How do rounded cobbles, and angular clasts get stuck in a perfectly undisturbed mudstone matrix? Chew on that question for a minute then go to the next picture to discover the answer. One last clue: the paleomagnetism shows these rocks were formed within 10 degrees of the equator.
