Kipuka Pu'u Huluhulu 4/27/11

We caught a decent sunset on the way home from HWY 200.

Don't know what these blooms are called.
The trail up the Kipuka gets one breathing hard in short order even though the trail is short. Why? We're at nearly 7,000' in elevation.

This road goes to the Mauna Loa observatories, bute didn't have time to visit this time around.
