| Mrs. H stands next to a remnant of a very large rock avalanche from sometime within the past 15,000 years. According to park geologist Greg Stock the rock avalanche resulted in nearly 34 million! tons of rock crashing to the valley floor just east of Washington Column in a matter of seconds. |
