| So here's the amazing story of Death Valley's creation laid out before our eyes. The Panamint Mountains (which we're standing on and looking at under the snow) actually SLID off the Black Mountains on the other side of the valley. The layers show part of the 30,000+ feet of sediments that detached and slid to make the valley starting a mere four or five million years ago. |
