| The volcanic flows here and across the valley are exactly the same age, roughly 4 to 5 million years old, yet there are no flows in the valley. This helps us piece together that the mountains across from our view were once attached to mountians we're standing on during that time. The valley had to have formed then in the last four million years or so. Note the very folded and faulted rocks across the way. |
