| So how’d these falls form? The lava flowed across an ice-age river that was fed from the many surrounding glaciers. The lava flows briefly dammed the rivers, then the dam was breached and continued to fairly rapidly downcut the basalt flows, and where the water eddied made marvelous potholes. |
