  20090810_high_emigrant_lake_0214.JPG - With just a few more feet in elevation to gain, Emigrant Meadow Lake and Middle Emigrant lake come into view nestled in magnificent Topaz Lake Granodiorite which is cretaceous in age (~80-90myo).  These "granites" had previously been exposed and then reburried by the Relief Peak volcanic mudflows (lahars) and lava/ash over 10 million years ago.
