Description of Horsetail Falls:
Laura and I had a great time taking Ellen, our German house guest & teacher, to the Lake Tahoe area. Before we went to Tahoe we stopped at what I thought would be the only snow-free hike in the area at Horsetail Falls. As it turns out, the trail was mostly snow-free, especially once we hit the bare granite. Ropi Creek and the falls were quite spectacular, but paled in comparison to the reaction Ellen had after we rounded Echo Summit and a surprising Lake Tahoe came into full view. Germans not only love David Hasselhof, but Lake Tahoe as well! |
