This was a nice Saturday drive that included looking for quartz crystals in Hornitos, garnets in Mariposa, visiting the State Mineral Museum in Mariposa, looking for gold & mariposite at the Pine Tree Mine and finally wildflowers & waterfalls near Moccasin, CA. It's a great spring time drive to see the few weeks of green in our Sierra Foothillls. I've highlighted places of interest on the map below and on Google Earth.
